Welcome to BHP Music-Guitar Trax Records

In the early 2000’s, I started a boutique record label called BHP MUSIC/GUITAR TRAX, specializing in instrumental guitar music distributed by Redeye Distribution physically and digitally. Having been a successful jazz artist with a number of radio hits on Smooth Jazz Radio and being blessed by winning 3 EMMY Awards for music composition, I decided to start an artist run label. I concentrated on producing records for the artistic value; not the commercial one.

I tapped into my contacts and began to release the Guitar Master Series licensing various tracks from artists such as Randy Coven, Zakk Wylde, Stanley Clarke, & Joe Satriani. I also composed specialty albums, inviting famous guitarists like Steve Morse, Billy Sheehan, Leslie West, & Gary Hoey to guest on each track. I also released various Classic Rock Tribute albums as Get the Led Out! Led Zeppelin, El Becko: Jeff Beck, and Lenny: Stevie Ray Vaughan to name a few. In 2010 I produced and released bass virtuoso Randy Coven’s last album, Nu School featuring Leslie West. The label became a favorite among guitar heads and received rave reviews from Guitar Player, Premier Guitar, Guitar World, and Vintage Guitar Magazines.

At this same time, I built a recording studio called Jungle Room Studios where many of the releases were recorded. The studio featured an extensive analog/digital facility featuring a collection of classic outboard gear such as: Trident recording console, Neve Compressor 33609, Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Buss Processor, Neve 1074, Chandler ltd Germanium Compressor, and a host of other gear including an array of microphones, guitars, and amplifiers. Jungle Room Studios has been featured in Mix, Vintage Guitar, Progression, and Recording magazines.

In 2019 we received the Global Music Gold Award for Orlando In Heaven for “Best Album.” Three years in a row (2016-2019) we received “Best Album of the Year” nominations from the Independent Music Awards for the releases Guitars for Wounded Warriors, Orlando in Heaven, and Guitars for Veterans.
